Do I have to go to the same resort every year?
NO! That is the great thing about timeshare. You have tremendous flexibility. By taking advantage of the exchange company, either RCI or II, you can go to any of the resorts with whom the exchange company is affiliated.

How long can I stay at the resort?
Timeshares are usually sold in intervals of 7 nights/8 days. If you purchase 1 week/unit, you are guaranteed 7 nights/8 days of vacation. If you buy a point based timeshare, you can vacation as many days/weeks as the points you own allow for. Generally a points based system allows you the flexibility to use your vacation time in more ways, i.e one year you may use all of your points on a 1 week stay in a 3 bedroom unit, the next year you may use the same points on a 2 week stay in a 1 bedroom unit, or you may use your points on several different 2 or 3 days stays.

What if I cannot take a vacation one year?
Again, your options are limitless. You can either choose to rent the week and cover your maintenance fee, plus add a little money to your pocket, or you can bank your week with your exchange company and use it the next year. You would then have 2 weeks vacation available to you!

Can I will it to my heirs?
YES! Most timeshare is deeded and it can be inherited. There are some timeshares however, that are lease hold or right to use. In these circumstances, you need to check their policy on willing your right to use to your heirs.

Are all timeshare resorts the same?
No. There is a very wide variety in terms of quality. You can purchase a very high end resort that provides many options, you can purchase a low end that gives you unbelievable trade power, or you can purchase a mid priced. It all depends on your needs. Why is timeshare better than a vacation home?
There are many reasons for this. First, you only pay for the portion you use. If you are vacationing 1 week a year, you pay for 1 week’s maintenance. If you owned a vacation home year round, you pay the whole years maintenance. You don't have to worry about repairs, refurbishing costs, taxes, etc. The managing company at your home resort handles all of this for you. Your initial upfront costs are going to be significantly less. And, last but certainly not least, you have the best flexibility in owning timeshare. If you owned a vacation house, you would have to go there every year. When you own timeshare, you can travel to all parts of the world!

Is the resale market better than buying at the resort directly?
YES! Why? Timeshare resorts have very high marketing costs involved in getting families to "tour" their resort. In turn, they have to mark up the cost of the timeshare week by 40% to cover these costs. Is there a difference between a "new" timeshare and a "used" one?
No. There is no difference between the two. Resale's are viewed as unwanted competition by developers. They will tell you not to buy because it's not the same quality....not true. They will tell you not to buy because you could end up paying back fees and taxes....if you research properly and make sure the week you are buying is current...not true. How do you do that? Simply call the home resort and ask if that week/unit is current. It's as simple as that. If you really want protection, you can buy title insurance.

There is no catch. There are some things you need to be aware of, in order to get the best possible use out of your purchase. First of all, the timeshare industry has a bad reputation due to some hard sales pitches and sneaky sales techniques in the past. That is why buying from Timeshare Resale World on the resale market is a smart choice. We do not have any hard sales pitch. Another factor you need to be aware of is the ability to exchange. If traveling to various destinations is your main goal, you want to be sure the resort you are purchasing has high trade power. Will my maintenance fees go up?
As with anything else, there is inflation to consider, so the answer to this question is yes. Your yearly maintenance fee covers the cost of maintaining the grounds, pool, various amenities, refurbishing the units, painting, insurance costs, fuel costs, etc. If the management company is not spending the money to maintain the property, the value will decrease, in turn reducing your ability to exchange and/or sell your week(s). Your yearly maintenance fee will likely be less than a 1 week’s stay in a hotel room. If you are worried about these fees, you can contact the resort and inquire about the rate of increase over the last 5 or 10 years.

How do I buy a timeshare from Timeshare Resale World?
