Go to the resort you purchased from. You can contact the Homeowners Association at your home resort and inquire if they do resale or rentals. Timeshare industry surveys reveal that 58% of resorts do not offer assistance to their owners. The resorts that do offer this service will usually charge very high commissions, often as much as 40%. |

Hire a licensed Real Estate Broker. This is an alternative that many timeshare owners have considered. Licensed Real Estate agents charge on a commission basis. There is generally a percentage to pay, i.e. 30% or a flat rate, whichever is higher. The downside to this is they do not have the ability to get the exposure required to sell or rent the property. The positive aspect is if they do sell or rent the unit, they will generally handle the negotiation and transfer of title for you. |

Advertise it yourself. While this may sound like a good plan, it generally is not. You as an individual may not be able to generate enough exposure nationally, let alone internationally. USA Today can cost as much as $1500 for a 4 line classified ad per week. Do I need an appraisal to sell my timeshare?
NO! If a broker or another company tells you otherwise, use caution, as this is simply not true. What are the costs to sell/rent my timeshare?
We assess a low one-time advertising cost. There are absolutely no other fees involved, such as closing costs, commissions, appraisal fees, etc. Timeshare Resale World, LLC is a co operative advertising agency. We are assisting you, our client, in selling or renting your timeshare “by owner”. Essentially we can advertise on a much larger scale, on your behalf, because all of our owners are sharing/cooperating in the costs involved. TRW generates the exposure necessary to achieve success in the sales/rental of your timeshare unit(s).
How long will you advertise my property?
Timeshare Resale World can not guarantee how long it will take for your particular property to sell or rent. There are several factors involved, such as the location of the resort, the time of year you own, the price you set, your willingness to negotiate, etc. TRW will list/advertise your property for 6 months. We believe that under the right conditions, 6 months is sufficient.
How do buyers shop for timeshares?
Most buyers have visited at least one timeshare resort. They know the basic concept and now they need to find the right resort for the best price. Some will want assistance and the added benefit of using a lawyer or a closing agent. In these instances, it is customary for the buyer to pay the closing costs.
